Dental implants in oliva
The first choice to replace missing teeth and restore aesthetics and function
A perfect smile
Our mission as dental professionals is always to save natural teeth. When that’s not possible, today implantology is the most reliable and comfortable solution — at any age. Of course, implants will require maintenance to prevent potential issues, allowing you to enjoy them and get the most benefit.
What are dental implants?
Dental implants are small titanium components that are biocompatible with the human body, designed to mimic the shape and function of a natural tooth root.
They are surgically placed into the maxillary or mandibular bone, where they undergo a process called osseointegration — meaning the body accepts them as part of itself. Once integrated, a dental crown or another type of prosthesis can be placed on top, depending on each case.

Phases of dental implant treatment
The best aesthetic and functional solution when one or more teeth have been lost.
Diagnosis
As with all treatments, the first phase is diagnosis. Photographs, X-rays, and study models help us determine the best treatment for you. In this case, 3D imaging will be essential for planning the procedure. In some cases, we may need to perform bone augmentation procedures to improve conditions.
Treatment and follow-up
For dental implant treatment, the prosthesis may be placed immediately or at a later stage, depending on the initial conditions. In any case, temporary prostheses can be used while we wait for osseointegration. Regular check-ups and maintenance are essential for the success of the treatment.

Nowadays, the success rate exceeds 90%, but it’s important to keep in mind that, just like natural teeth are exposed to infections and biological complications, implants are too.
Therefore, it is essential that patients with dental implants attend regular check-ups and follow the oral health and hygiene guidelines we provide at our clinic in Oliva to avoid future complications.
Not necessarily. Each treatment is studied individually and depends on many factors: remaining bone, type of prosthesis, whether the loss involves one or several adjacent teeth, or the entire mouth, among others.
In principle, any missing tooth can be replaced with an implant. A detailed study, good surgical planning, and flawless execution with attention to detail are guarantees of success.
It is true that certain risk factors can reduce the chances of success, such as uncontrolled diabetes, smoking, poor hygiene, and untreated periodontal disease.
Although implants need time to osseointegrate—that is, to fuse with the bone—there is the possibility of placing a temporary prosthesis, either fixed or removable, which allows the patient to eat, speak normally, and maintain the aesthetics of their smile during that time.
In cases of unfavorable bone anatomy or insufficient bone volume, we perform bone augmentation procedures using biomaterials and/or the patient’s own bone. This may be done prior to or on the same day as implant placement. This helps restore optimal and favorable anatomy for the correct placement of implants.
